Welcome to my website. This is where I make my musings about my work and interests available to the wider world (whether this is a good thing has yet to be confirmed…) and where I post and re-post interesting (to me at least) facts, papers and articles.

I work at the intersection of research, education, and organisational development.

I am a researcher and educator with interests in land-based social sciences, professional practice, human-animal interactions, One Welfare, and Grounded Theory methodology. I am particularly interested in how organisations translate evidence into practice and how professionals develop expertise, leadership, and resilience in complex environments.

Alongside my academic work, through van Veggel Consulting I help universities, professional bodies, and other organisations strengthen professional practice through evidence-informed decision-making, educational innovation, doctoral researcher development, and organisational learning. My work includes curriculum design, staff development, responsible AI in education and research, qualitative research, and strategic educational enhancement.

I regularly collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, facilitate workshops, support organisational change, and contribute to international initiatives in higher education and professional development.
